We are happy to announce that our company is selected as one of the finalists in the CFM challenge 2020. The challenge looks for new robotic solutions for Cleaning & Fabric Maintenance (CFM) of Capital-intensive infrastructures. Qlayers participated in two challenge categories: Crude Storage Tanks and Open Call for Cleaning & Fabric Maintenance Robotics.
Currently, the process of cleaning & fabric maintenance contains serious operational, economic and safety challenges. In the oil and gas industry there is a strong urge to replace the traditional manual or man entry applications with new robotic tools that can streamline the workflow process, minimizing Confined Space Entries (CSEs), Scaffolding, and Rope Access activities.
We believe that our values and believes are aligned with the CFM Challenge, simply because of the fact that this challenge emphasizes the need of changing the traditional cleaning and fabric maintenance tasks into safer and more remotely performed operations.
Qlayers’ automated coating robot, 10Q, is an innovative robotic solution for onsite coating storage tanks and improving overall coating activities’ safety. The magnetic crawler is able to coat large-scale industrial surfaces in a fully controlled, efficient way. The robot can be operated from the ground by a user-friendly controller module, and this procedure reduces the number of painters working on suspended platforms by 85%. The 10Q makes it possible for humans and robots to work together to make the coating process not only more efficient but also a lot safer.
We, as a company, are very glad to be a part of this innovative and inspirational challenge, and we wish the other finalist good luck with their journey.
