Qlayers is joining in the prestigious NXTGEN HIGHTECH program, working on the development of a smart system for layer thickness measurements.
This technology will enable the automatic determination of optimal coating application parameters for robots, revolutionizing the way manufacturing processes are optimized.
The NXTGEN HIGHTECH program, with an ambitious vision to revolutionize various industries, has secured a substantial investment of approximately €1 billion until 2030. This significant funding will be allocated to support more than 330 industry and knowledge institutes across multiple domains. The primary objective is to foster the creation and marketization of innovative high-tech machinery and production technologies. Notably, the National Growth Fund has committed €450 million towards this program, underscoring its importance and potential for transformative impact.
Within the domain of Composite, Qlayers will spearhead the project named “Efficient & Proven Zero Defect Robotic Manufacturing.” With a focus on automated spray application, Qlayers aims to leverage its expertise and cutting-edge technologies to advance the field. By participating in this project, Qlayers aims to address the industry’s critical need for efficient, high-quality coating solutions that ensure zero defects during the manufacturing process.
Qlayers’ involvement in the NXTGEN HIGHTECH program marks an important milestone in the company’s commitment to driving innovation in automated manufacturing. By collaborating with industry leaders and knowledge institutes, Qlayers aims to push the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of robotic coating applications. Through this venture, Qlayers seeks to unlock new opportunities for increased productivity, enhanced quality control, and streamlined manufacturing processes.
Qlayers is a leading technology company specializing in advanced coating solutions. With a focus on automation and innovative technologies, Qlayers develops state-of-the-art robotic coating systems that enable efficient and high-quality coating processes for various large industrial assets such as storage tanks, ship vessels and wind turbines. By combining expertise in robotics, materials science, and engineering, Qlayers aims to revolutionize the field of industrial coatings, making the painting processes more sustainable, precise, and safer.
This project is made possible in part by a contribution from the National Growth fund program NXTGEN HIGHTECH. With over 330 partners, in more than 60 projects and in six essential domains, this program will make a significant contribution to the structural and sustainable economic growth in the Netherlands and offer solutions for the major societal challenges in the areas of energy transition, health, safety and food.
Including the contributions of € 450 million from the National Growth Fund, NXTGEN HIGHTECH will invest approximately € 1 billion until 2030. In doing so, we will realize an internationally leading ecosystem for high-tech equipment in the Netherlands, which will rank among the top three in Europe at least and make an additional contribution to Dutch GNP of € 6 to 11 billion per year. We will develop a new generation of high-tech equipment for the future generation of Dutch people: our children.
