The Qlayers Paint System (QPS) serves as the control center of the coating setup.

At the start of the project, it takes about half a day to a full day for mobilization, depending on the complexity of the rigging system and accessibility of the tank pit.
Once the robot is set up, it takes roughly only 30 minutes each day to start the system and another 30 minutes to flush at the end of a shift, depending on the proficiency of the operators.
The current hood can cover from 200 to 2000m² without cleaning, after which it takes 5 minutes to clean. The exact runtime depends on the type of paint: high-density coatings produce little overspray, allowing for maximum runtime, while low-density (lighter) coatings generate more overspray, requiring more frequent cleaning.
A filter change might also be needed, depending on filter size and paint particles. Subject to the object’s layout and dimensions, breaks to move the crawler past obstacles and reposition the trailer might be required.
For the rest, you can continue the coating application process without breaks. It is important to note that the robot is semi-automatic; thus, robot operators need to be present at all times.
The whole system is CE-certified and produced according to ISO9001 standards, and the pump is ATEX-certified.
Additionally, the system has multiple emergency stop buttons (on the trailer and remote control), and a gas sensor shuts it down entirely if the level exceeds 10% of the LEL.
The crawler is attached to the surface with three permanent magnets, making it fail-proof against an electrical outage. A fall arrest system serves as a backup in the unlikely event the crawler detaches from the wall.
