Together with our partner Van der Ende Steel Protectors Group, Qlayers performed field tests of the 10Q robot coating storage tanks automatically. In this project, the 10Q robot was used to paint two tanks from Maasvlakte Olie Terminal (MOT), a company specialized in the storage and transshipment of crude oil located in the Rotterdam port.
During the assignment period, our 10Q robot was deployed by our partner to showcase the advantages that our new innovative technology brings into the coating industry. It is a fact that the current manual coating method which is widely used in the storage tank industry today comes with many disadvantages. Unsafety, inconsistent paint layers, poor finished quality, huge paint waste and release of harmful chemical paint residues in the environment, are just some of the drawbacks that coating contractors and asset owners deal with.
The 10Q robot is the best and newest solution for all these inconveniences. By disrupting the way that coatings are applied we make the process fully automated, faster and more sustainable. The MOT assignment was a great step forward in improving our technology by coating 80% of two exterior storage tanks walls.
We are proud to have had the great opportunity to collaborate with Van Der Ende and Maasvlakte Olie Terminal. We look forward to working with them again on more challenging projects.
