We recently welcomed a delegation from Nihon Shipyard, an innovative joint venture between Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Japan Marine United Corporation, to our headquarters in Delft. The visit focused on exploring the potential of Qlayers’ technology to revolutionize the coating processes within the maritime industry.
The Nihon Shipyard team received a comprehensive presentation showcasing Qlayers’ current robotic coating projects. This presentation provided valuable insights into the company’s expertise and capabilities. Additionally, the delegation gained a glimpse into the exciting roadmap for future maritime developments planned by Qlayers.
Further solidifying the visit, we organized a live technology demonstration for our esteemed guests. The Nihon Shipyard delegation witnessed the robots in action, gaining firsthand experience with their functionality. To enhance their understanding, the delegation participated in a dry-driving session, allowing them to interact with the technology directly.
In January 2021, Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Japan Marine United Corporation established a new joint venture called Nihon Shipyard Co., Ltd.
Recognizing that the worldwide competitive environment is becoming increasingly difficult as shipbuilding companies consolidate and reorganize all over the world, both companies have entered into a capital and business alliance with the purpose of strengthening their international competitiveness of their merchant marine businesses. In order to maximize the efficacy from the partnership between Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Japan Marine United Corporation by leveraging their respective strengths, the joint venture will create a system that enables them to offer proposals that will exceed traditional frameworks with a greater sense of speed, aiming to survive in the international market.
Their goal is to contribute to the development of society and industry by constantly offering their customers the best products and services and attaining sustainable growth.
