Qlayers and Aramco Sign MoU to Advance Smart Coating Innovation Aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 

Qlayers has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aramco at the 19th Middle East Corrosion Conference & Exhibition (MECC 2025) in Dhahran to mark a shared commitment to collaborate on the deployment of next-generation coating automation within the storage tank industry.  This coating technology extends asset life, reduces environmental impact, and improves workforce safety—key priorities under Saudi Vision 2030’s industrial and infrastructure development goals. 

Aramco is one of the world’s leading energy and chemicals companies and the world’s largest oil producer. It continues to set industry benchmarks in large-scale industrial infrastructure, safety, and operational excellence. 

The ceremonial MoU signing took place during MECC 2025, a leading regional industry event that brings together global experts, technology providers, and asset owners to address key challenges in corrosion protection, materials science, and asset integrity. 

The agreement marks a strategic step toward advancing efficiency, sustainability, and safety in large-scale coating operations, in alignment with the country’s ambitions under Vision 2030; a national strategy aimed at economic diversification, sustainability, and industrial modernization across key industries. 

The collaboration is locally supported by Kanoo Energy, Qlayers’ distributor and partner in the Middle East (KSA, Bahrain, Oman, UAE), strengthening the deployment of robotic coating solutions in the region.  

At the heart of the collaboration is Qlayers’ 10Q robotic coating system, which delivers measurable environmental and operational benefits.  The system enables up to 30% lower greenhouse gas emissions per project, up to 35% reduction in paint usage and volatile organic compound (VOC) output, virtually zero overspray, and up to 80% fewer working hours at height. 

The partnership reflects a shared commitment by Qlayers, Aramco, and Kanoo Energy to accelerate the adoption of safer, smarter and more sustainable coating solutions for industrial assets in the Middle East and beyond.
