ABOUT THE JOB

As an Electrical Assembly Technician, you will play a key role in the assembly, wiring, testing, and quality control of Qlayers’ robotic coating systems. Working closely with Production and Engineering teams, you will build electrical control panels, electrical cabinets, and perform machine wiring while ensuring all systems meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability.

You will be responsible for assembling and integrating electrical components, performing functional testing and troubleshooting, and identifying opportunities to improve product performance and manufacturability. While the primary focus of the role is in-house electrical assembly and production, you will occasionally support service, maintenance, and customer activities when required.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with innovative technology, takes pride in delivering high-quality electrical work, and thrives in a fast-paced scale-up environment where continuous improvement is part of everyday work.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Build, wire, and assemble electrical control panels, electrical cabinets, and robotic systems according to technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Assemble and integrate electrical components, sensors, cables, connectors, and control systems into Qlayers robotic equipment.
  • Perform machine wiring, cable assembly, and electrical interconnection work for new systems and prototypes.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
  • Conduct functional testing, troubleshooting, and quality inspections of electrical and control systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and resolve assembly, wiring, or test issues in collaboration with Engineering and Quality teams.
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of electrical documentation and technical work instructions.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable safety requirements, quality standards, and company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the production department.
  • Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities for installed robotic systems when required.
  • Provide remote and occasional on-site technical support to customers.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Customer Success teams to help improve product reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support other operational teams when business priorities require additional resources.
  • Occasionally travel internationally to support installations, maintenance activities, training, or customer support.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • MBO+ education in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical assembly, machine wiring, and the construction of electrical control panels and cabinets.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, fault finding, and quality inspections of electrical and control systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and safe working practices; NEN 3140 certification is a plus.
  • A practical, detail-oriented, and quality-focused approach, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, machinery, automation, or robotics environment is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with EPLAN or similar electrical design software is a plus.
  • A meticulous and quality-focused approach, with pride in delivering neat, accurate, and reliable electrical work.
  • The ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic scale-up environment where priorities can change quickly and no two days are the same.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Salary range EUR 2700 – 3300 gross per month for a 40-hour work week. The exact amount depends on the seniority of the candidate.
  • 25 vacation days based on a 40-hour work week.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Being part of a movement to disrupt the traditional coating industry with innovative solutions.
  • Being a part of a tight-knit international team.
  • Growth opportunities.
  • Self-development opportunities.
  • Flat hierarchy, while still maintaining professional management.
