ABOUT THE JOB

As an Automation Engineer you will play a key role in the design, development, and commissioning of advanced automated coating systems. This is a hands-on role combining PLC programming with electrical and mechanical engineering, working closely with a small multidisciplinary team.

 

You will be involved throughout the full lifecycle of our machines — from concept and hardware selection to implementation, testing, and support — contributing directly to innovative solutions that push the boundaries of industrial automation and robotics.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Develop automation solutions from concept to production deployment;
  • Define, analyze, and select hardware components to meet automation requirements;
  • Program, maintain, and optimize PLC software;
  • Develop and maintain HMI systems;
  • Perform I/O testing and commissioning of industrial components (sensors, motors, drives, etc.);
  • Maintain, refactor, and improve existing codebases for stability and performance;
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineers;
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal users;
  • Proactively propose and implement improvements to functionality and performance.

We are looking for

Professional qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering;
  • 3+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer or similar role;
  • Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming (e.g. Siemens TIA Portal);
  • Practical experience with I/O testing and industrial hardware;
  • Understanding of electrical assembly and wiring;
  • Mechanical insight and the ability to work with machines as a complete system;
  • Experience with Python programming is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team;
  • Clear communication skills across disciplines;
  • High attention to detail and quality;
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Salary range EUR 3300 – 4200 gross per month for a 40-hour work week. The exact amount depends on the seniority of the candidate;
