ADDRESSING THE PAIN POINTS OF ​THE MARITIME COATING

​Traditionally, ships were – and are still – coated by hand, using rollers or spray guns. This has not changed since over a century, despite the visible downsides.

​Conventional methods require people working at dangerous heights and in close contact with paint chemicals, while making it difficult to achieve a consistent quality and desired speed. In addition, high amounts of overspray put both workers and the environment at great risk, not to mention the resulting paint waste.

​A NOVEL TECHNOLOGY FOR COATING SHIPS​

​7CS is an innovative robotic solution by Qlayers that can coat ship hulls in a fully automated, safe and efficient way. The robots are equipped with a patented spray shielding system that prevents the toxic paint particles from being released to the surrounding environment, contaminating the air and water.

​In addition, overspray reduction enables contractors to paint even in windy conditions of up to 4 bft.
