Qlayers Introduces 10QX Robotic Coating System to Advance Sustainable Industrial Maintenance 

Qlayers continues to advance automated coating technology with the 10QX, a fully integrated coating system designed to improve control, quality, and consistency in industrial maintenance operations. 

Developed to address key challenges in the coating industry, the system combines robotics and precision application to support safer and more efficient asset maintenance. 

At the core of the 10QX is a high-speed crawler robot equipped with an integrated spray gun, capable of coating speeds of up to 600 m² per hour.  

The system also features Qlayers’ patented spray shielding technology, which captures overspray and improves transfer efficiency. This contributes to reduced paint consumption of up to 35%, helping operators lower material usage and waste. 

By minimizing overspray and improving coating efficiency, the 10QX enables operators to reduce their environmental footprint while maintaining high-quality application standards. As environmental regulations continue to evolve across industries such as shipping and storage, shipyards and tank farms are increasingly required to meet stricter standards related to emissions, waste management, and operational sustainability.  

The 10QX includes a Qlayers Paint System (2k pump integrated) for precise mixing and application, while remote control enables operators to perform coating activities from a safe distance. By reducing the need for personnel to work at heights or in hazardous environments, the system supports improved safety standards across industrial sites. 

In practice, the technology enables maintenance projects to progress more efficiently without compromising coating quality. Consistent application can help extend coating lifespan, increase maintenance intervals, and provide stronger protection against corrosion.
