ABOUT THE JOB

Are you passionate about designing and optimizing cutting-edge control systems? At Qlayers, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated engineer to develop and fine-tune hardware and control software for our advanced paint application systems, leveraging various control methods to perfect performance. You’ll integrate automation solutions seamlessly into production lines, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partners, and lead comprehensive system testing for successful commercialization.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and optimize control hardware and algorithms to control various components in the Qlayers paint application systems (E.g. flow regulation on the pumps, atomization control and quality control). This using multiple kinds of feedback such as visual and electronic feedback.
  • Integrate automation solutions into production lines, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and external partners for seamless integration and sourcing components.
  • Lead system-level testing, validation, and optimization for successful commercialization.
  • Maintain documentation and provide technical support and reports.

We are looking for

Professional qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on control systems and process automation.
  • Proficiency in programming and control software (e.g., PLC software (TIA portal is a plus), Python, C++ ).
  • Strong understanding of sensor integration, control algorithms, and process optimization.
  • Experience with camera systems, image processing, and real-time quality control systems.
  • Familiarity with TRL 9 standards and experience in developing systems for high-TRL industrial applications.
  • Experience in developing or integrating camera systems.
  • Experience with simulation tools and software for control system design and testing.
  • Familiarity with robotics and automated systems for industrial processes. Familiarity with spray applications is a plus.

  • High attention to detail, with the ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Salary range of EUR 3500-4500 gross per month. The exact amount depends on the seniority of the candidate.
