The Qlayers team is looking for a new, enthusiastic team member to aid us in supplying the market with new, innovative technology! Our high-tech start-up develops an automated printing process to add functionality to industrial surfaces. Just like nature does, only better! Our printable sharkskin microstructure is to be printed on wind turbine blades, aircraft, ships, trains and many more. This sharkskin microstructure directly reduces surface friction saving fuel for most transport and increase the energy efficiency of wind turbines. Next to that, our automated coating system aims to make manual paint labour completely redundant. This system aims to provide a safe, labour-free and clean alternative current conventional spray painting processes. Job description
Your job will be to perform testing on our automated spray painting system, the Slash, which aims to produce consistent extremely uniform paint coatings on any industrial surface while minimizing overspray! You will define the maximum operating limits of the system and find optimal working conditions. You will to process any experimental data resulting from these tests and communicate the results with the design team in order to optimize the Slash system such that the system can operate effectively in a (very) wide range of conditions. The tests that you will perform will be done in both our testing facility and on site with the clients. During testing it is expected to encounter some new (mostly) mechanical and software challenges, which are preferably to be solved by you. This requires a fair amount of independency and communicative abilities should the problem require more thinking minds to be overcome. Any experience in mechanical engineering and software is therefore required. Responsibilities: - Creating experimental plans - Planning of aforementioned tests - Maintaining and improving our test facility - Processing experimental test data and reporting - Communicate problems in the system to the responsible people Must have skills: - Background in mechanics - Practical hands-on experience with machines Preferred skills: - CAD skills - Python - Experience in 3D printing Are you someone that is practical with a hands-on mentality? Send an email to info@qlayers.com and we will soon get in touch with you.
